SENIOR CLINICAL TRAINING SCHOLARSHIP IN ANATOMIC PATHOLOGY
SCHOLARSHIP AWARD – £24,789.00 YEAR ONE
The Scholarship is available from January 2024, or as soon as possible after, for one year in the first instance, renewable for periods of one year up to a total of three years. It is subject to an initial monitoring period of six months, and to review on an annual basis.
The Scholarship provides an outstanding opportunity to study for a postgraduate qualification in anatomic pathology, and it is expected that the Scholar will work towards the diploma exams of the European College of Veterinary Pathologists or the American College of Veterinary Pathologists, with the opportunity to additionally sit the Fellowship exams of the Royal College of Pathologists if the Scholar wishes to do so.
You will be trained in diagnostic gross pathology and histopathology of all common domestic species, with some additional exposure to zoo and wildlife animal species and laboratory animals, and will undertake a clinical research project. At the end of the Scholarship period the Scholar will be eligible to sit the exams of the European College of Veterinary Pathologists (ECVP), American College of Veterinary Pathologists (ACVP), and the Royal College of Pathologists (RCPath).
Applicants must be a Member of the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons, or hold a veterinary degree qualifying them for membership. In order to comply with ECVP trainee registration requirements, the applicant must have worked or undergone training as a veterinarian in a field relevant to veterinary pathology for at least one year subsequent to graduation from veterinary school. A minimum of 12 months’ experience of diagnostic pathology is desirable.

Applicants should supply a completed SCTS Application Form (SCTS1), Curriculum Vitae and Covering Letter giving reasons for wishing to undertake the SCTS in the Department of Veterinary Medicine, University of Cambridge.
