The role

Bristol Veterinary School is recruiting for a pathologist with vision and commitment to drive veterinary pathology research and teaching for the 21st century.

The role is advertised from Lecturer to Senior Lecturer level.

The position is a maternity cover post, for a fixed term of 12 months and offered on our Education and Teaching (Pathway 3) academic tracks.

What will you be doing?

The successful candidates will join the existing Veterinary Pathology Unit. On Pathway 3, you will contribute to, and lead aspects of, the teaching of veterinary pathology, with opportunities to support wider aspects of the clinical and professional curriculum, and educational research.

The role will involve didactic and practical teaching of veterinary pathology to undergraduate and postgraduate veterinary students and will contribute to the provision of the School’s post-mortem service, with particular reference to companion animals including cats, dogs and horses, and/or large animals including farm animals.

You should apply if

You will have a veterinary qualification that can be registered with the RCVS, and either current board status in veterinary pathology (Dip ECVP, Dip ACVP, FRCPath or FACVSc) or eligibility to gain board status in anatomic pathology. You will demonstrate experience of, and a commitment to, training the next generation of veterinary surgeons.

On Pathway 3, you will have experience of working and teaching in an academic and/or practice environment.
